School Closing and Delay Procedures
During times of severe weather, it may be necessary for the district to cancel school. Closing announcements are made over various radio and television stations. Listen to FM 93.7 or AM 1300. Closings are also normally announced on television stations NBC 4, WSYX 6, and WBNS 10 in Columbus.
If the opening of school is on a two-hour delay:
- The school day will be 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Students who walk to school or are dropped off by parents should arrive no sooner than 10:45 a.m. We will follow regular dismissal routines at 3:30 p.m.
- Morning Kindergarten will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Afternoon Kindergarten will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Bus routes will run two hours later. (If your child is usually picked up at 8:30 a.m., the pick up will be 10:30 a.m.).
- Morning Kindergarten bus pick up will be approximately two hourslater than usual.
- Afternoon Kindergarten bus pick up will be approximately one hour later than usual.
- The lunch schedule will remain the same, although the lunch choices may change.
- Have a plan ready for what to do with your children in case conditions do not improve and school closes after a 2 hour delay is called.
